The IFP encourages all South Africans to be vigilant, to drive safely and to arrive alive at their intended destinations this coming weekend. We are challenging all South Africans this season to curb road and pedestrian accidents. Let’s come out of this weekend with zero deaths reported.

Speeding and inattention are the leading causes of deaths and serious injuries on our roads. Fatigue too is just as dangerous as drink driving, we encourage all motorists to prepare themselves and their vehicles before heading off, plan their routes properly, always look up and look out for other motorists and pedestrians on our roads.

We call on all South Africans to not be enticed by the culture of bribing and corruption on our roads, motorists must be mindful that this places others at grave risk. Furthermore, we call for greater visibility of all police and metro police on our national, provincial and local roads.
