DA to address media on steps to be taken

23rd January 2020

Today, Thursday 23 January 2020, the Democratic Alliance (DA) Gauteng Shadow MEC for Education, Khume Ramulifho MPL will conduct an oversight inspection at Lufhereng Secondary School in Soweto.

The school is one of the township schools in Gauteng that has performed below 60% for the matric class of 2019.

The school achieved a 51% matric pass rate.

The DA will assess the state of the school as well as the basic needs of the school.

We will also engage with the principal and the SGB to ascertain why the school is underperforming and what can be done to assist the school in improving their performance.

The media is invited and there will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
